The weeknight casual drinks.
The weekday/workday casual hangover.

In lots of other places, you just don’t socialize during the week like you do here. (Though I bet the Brits would say our inability to take down a pint or two during lunch is weak.) I’m in the place where after a margherita and 3 draft beers I’m not really going to feel drunk, but I’m going to feel pretty dehydrated the next morning (manana por la manana if you will). Thankfully last night ended pretty early, but most casual drinks end around 11:30PM (assuming you don’t want to be called a wuss or worse). Plus, it’s impossible to pull an Irish Goodbye with a smaller, less intoxicated group.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_5PKRnjgWo3I/RoPKir-TX6I/AAAAAAAAAps/EPOo5c1D5mA/s320/abs.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5081127501872455586" />No the image does not quite match the copy but I had to add it in order to ask if you or one of your friends used to pull Absolut ads out of your parents’ magazines and collect them. Seriously. One of my friends did – how ridiculous it seems now. I used to collect the Penn tennis balls print ads. Nerd alert.

Virginia Tech and Unity. I was surprised not to hear anything about this in the speeches or a moment of silence. How quickly we forget? Or a testament to the strength of the campus and us?
3. Parents don’t want to be the old parents. Seriously, they are obsessed with when the other students’ were conceived (parents’ ages) and if they have other older children.
4. Drinking game innovation. Whether you call it beer pong or beirut in its original form, the game has changed. Not with catching rules or rebutals, but speed. Civil War is essentially speed beirut, as teams compete to shoot and hit all their opponents cups as soon as they balls come to their side.
5. Stop calling us the Entitlement generation. And if you continue, at least give us props for giving back. Peep this do goodery stat from BC – 650 of less than 3000 grads forewent beach spring breaks for community service!

Half-baked thoughts, but wanted to share.
