Deutsch recently created a new site for the Bronx Zoo that allows you to “build your wild self”. It’s really cool and educational. Given that many children will be dressing up as lions and tigers and bears and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I figured the connection was strong enough to post. Plus, I just signed up for the beta version of Mixaloo, a site that “makes the mix tape digital” and decided to make my first mix Zoo-inspired. The cover art is my Wild Thing and the songs are about animals in some form or another. I don’t think I’ll be making much money (getting many points) from people purchasing it, but that wasn’t the point of doing it anyway. (It’s all about objectives, right? I’m saying that way too often lately.) They make it really easy to share and that’s smart.

Oh, and on the subject of music, something else interesting is that Paste Magazine has recently taken Radiohead’s pricing-power-to-the-people approach. Limited time offer, so cheapos get on it quickly.

Surprisingly I did not have any desire to bust out those lines these past few days at the AAAA Planning Conference in San Diego. What I have been doing is catching up with old friends and meeting virtual friends, people I read and respect, and some other mofos without blogs.

Highlights other than taking home a silver Jay Chiat award for Bahamavention (well, not quite home since Fallon took the actual hardware) include:

Speeches by Eric Ryan, Method and Sir Kens A Lot (can you mess with a knight’s name like that? oops – Ken Robinson
Breakout sessions led by Scott Lukas of Dosage and Mark Earls (linked above) of Herd Consulting and book
Dinners with peeps at our LA office

I’ve been blogging in a private space for Deutsch (yes, we’re a little late to the conversation, but taking the right step in testing out/getting comfortable before jumping in), so will transfer some of my posts from there and I twittered (twitter link) Day 2.

As a tease to more comprehensive and detailed posting, I kick it off with the same video that opened the conference on Creating Possibilities. After watching, is there any question that we are emotional beings first?

Started my new job yesterday at Deutsch. Thus, I guess the first thing I have to do is make “the” disclaimer: The opinions, and especially immaturity, expressed on this site are my own. They don’t know I have a blog. Shhh. Sneaky. Most don’t know I work here. It’s a bigger agency than I’m used to. 400+ on one floor in NYC stretching a full city block (and avenue). Plus, I’m wearing my invisible shades that I stole from the kid in Big Daddy. I’m having everyone call me Frankenstein. There are 3 other Seth’s here and FrankenSTEIN sounds Jewish anyway, so I’m not hiding my identity.

For those who care, I’ll be working on Starwood and Olympus. I probably won’t be talking about them. However, I may ask about The Wood and The Big O. Just keeping it DL and, of course, real.

The people are nice. The location is gr-8. And the bathrooms are O.K. Guess that takes care of that. Can’t imagine you have anymore questions, but if you do, type them in the comments and I’ll do my best to respond without raising any alarms. Yes, there was a fire drill day 1. Awesome.
